My whole family is very labor. I would not ever prefer Abbott.

Re: The "self-discovery" thread

Even though Labor party is a mess and Liberal party is better at the moment, I would still vote for Labor based on Rudd >>>>> Abbott.

Ftr don't like Turnbull and hated Gillard too.

Re: The "self-discovery" thread

Hey guys,

My name is Brett. I'm turning 27 in seven days! Oh, dear!! I am currently living in eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Diagnosed with profound deafness at 8 months old. Thankfully, my parents gave me CI to give me a chance to hear the world's sounds. I wouldn't ask for anything better than that.

Just recently lost my job as a qualified baker at bakers delight for 10 years. I am hoping to study bachelor of business in tourism management.
I always love travelling around the world! I've been to Scotland, Ireland, England, Thailand, New Zealand and 23 states in the US. Hoping to do a lot more in the near future. In one year time, I will consider applying a working visa to work in canada.

Would hate to think I was a shockingly crazy fan of Sophie Ferguson. I rarely follow tennis these days.

Don't be afraid to ask me any questions!

EDIT: Oh, I can't stand twitter at all!!

I always thought it'd be really hard to be a baker, such weird hours.

Re: The "self-discovery" thread

Answering my own politics questions...

very keen on politics and a Greens voter.

My parents, as far as I know, are dedicated Liberals voters, but they never discuss politics with us kids so we've developed our own political views. Which is good in many ways, except that now I'm appalled at the way my parents vote!

No wonder, I quit baking for good. It's very difficult to socialise with friends.

Re: The "self-discovery" thread

I always tend to go for Rudd because he supports marriage equality! I don't like the fact he spends too much money on unnecessities. Once, he gets re-elected, I hope he will stop spending too much money.

I never really like Abbott at all. He's a sore loser.

speaking of which... it's August and I have to apply for uni SHIT but i think i've narrowed it down to either education or journalism. so i thought i'd ask you what you think of journalism or if you would recommend it as long as you don't get a massive sleeve or something i'm sure it'll look decent haha.

this is the first time i'll get to vote this election! i would've gone with Jules but since she's out i might just go with some Greens hippie. anyone but Abbott, he's just weird.

Recently I heard on TV that if you want to be come a journalist, you need more than a journalist degree since you need to know what you're writing about.

Although I guess the same would apply to an education degree.

The journalism industry is really struggling as newspapers decline and media struggles to stay profitable and employ journos, Journos who don't wanna sell their soul by doing promo puff pieces dressed up as "news" are doing it particularly tough. If you like media, maybe think about studying communications. Otherwise go for education - a noble but undervalued profession. :-)

I don't think I'd recommend it to anyone unless it's their undying passion. There aren't many jobs going. If it's your passion and you're willing to do everything to make yourself as employable as possible, go for it, but it's tough to do that.

As far as the actual course, it's really fun, you get to go out into the community and really immerse yourself in society. It's definitely interesting and you'll gain a lot of friends out of it, because you work really closely with your peers. It's just a bummer that it's difficult to get employment afterwards.

I'm not getting a massive sleeve It's literally about 5x5cm on my forearm. It will be fine, I'm actually really excited!!

Re: The "self-discovery" thread

Labor voter here, never get really into it as they can all be as bad as each other, the Greens have some good policies but are way too out there for me on others....Can't stand Tony Abbott....would probably vote for Nationals if they would break away from the Liberals and stand on their own...
