I've been waiting for so long to create this thread but she didn't really deserve it until now. Constance is in Barstaple 75k SF after beating the titleholder Keothavong and Birnerova who was in a 75k final last week. Best week of her career so far. She had some good wins these last weeks too against Putintseva or Castano. In the past she lost a lot of close matches against decent players, so I'm glad to see she's now able to close these matches she would have lost a few months ago.

Constance didn't play in juniors at all and struggled a lot with injuries these last years, that's how I would explain she's been stagnating these last 2-3 years beeing ranked between 400 and 500. Now with this win she'll be ranked around 340 and, last but not least, she only has 4 (!) points to defend until May. I really expect her to have a great 2013 year and why not to get closer to the top 200.

Now she faces Annika Beck who just broke into top 100. I don't give her much of a chance against her. Funny anecdote though: just 3 years ago, she won her first title by beating Beck 64 62 in the final of Equeurdreville. But Beck was then 15 and ranked around 900...

Re: Constance Sibille

She lost as expected. The match was close until 3-3, she missed some break points and then just had no energy left. Still an amazing and very promising week.
And she even was interviewed by the BBC

Re: Constance Sibille

She's really motivated for 2013. I really expect her to keep climbing up the rankings. Too bad she had to withdraw for 10k Macon, hope there is nothing serious.

Plutôt long…

On me laisse du temps. La Fédération croit en moi. »

• Dès le prochain Roland-Garros ? « Pourquoi pas… »

Re: Constance Sibille

After a horrible start of the year (only one win above 10k level against Ferro), Constance is finally pulling herself together. Last week she beat 8th seed Dushevina in 100K Biarritz before falling 5-7 in the 3rd set (she was 3-1 up ) to Stephanie Vogt who enventually won the title.
This week she is in SF in 50K Contrexeville after beating 5th seed Ons Jabeur and top seed Feuerstein ! With these wins she'll enter top 300 for the first time around #283.
Next is Timea Bacsinszky Hope she can cause another upset

Re: Constance Sibille

Constance is really bursting with motivation Too bad she's injured again (tendonitis) and hasn't played since she reached her career best at 268. Can't defend 80 points from last year (included 56 points from Barnstaple ). But after this, she'll have nothing to defend until june. Take care of yourself, Constance

http://www.republicain-lorrain.fr/sp...-pas-le-top-10

Constance Sibille : « Pourquoi pas le top 10 ? »

Alain THIÉBAUT.
