Junior results

I think this is pertinent since most of them go to college(recruiting);

111th Annual Southern California Junior Sectional Championships (1)

'This tournament is the largest annual junior in the United States.'

Some significant results so far;

32 (8) Andrews/Xepoleas d. Goulak/Peus 6-4; 6-3
16 (9) Miclat(BYU)/Park d. (6) Boyer(UCSB)/Robinson(UND) 5-7; 6-3; 1-0(7)
16 Da Silveira/Schaefer d. (5) Marker(UA)/Ringblom 6-0; 6-2
16 (4) Benotto/Perez(LMU?) d. (9) Chiang(PEPP)/Tang(PRIN) 6-2; 4-6; 1-0(8)
Q (4) Benotto/Perez d. Da Silveira/Schaefer 6-4; 1-6; 1-0(2)

(1)Katz(USC)/Manasse(CAL) vs (8)Andrews/Xepoleas meet in the next round, Thursday. Could be a blockbuster. They both won the latest round match easily.

Alyssa Smith(DUKE) isn't playing dbls but playing sgls.

Re: Junior results

Hibi, Makarova, Profit, Xie aren't playing but otherwise pretty much all top So. Cal players are participating.

Girls' 18 Doubles
SF (4) Benotto/Perez d. (2) Pereira/Shibahara 6-1; 3-6; 6-2
SF (1) Katz/Manasse d. (8) Andrews/Xepoleas 6-7; 6-2; 6-1

Dunno why they didn't finish it, Final is on Monday (B18 F was already done)

Of course you do Deep down, you KNOW that junior talent means everything It's ALL about recruiting, ain't it

Mayo recently beat Jenny Brady twice, both in 2, at Hardcourt Championship last August and at ITF RM this February.

Since's she's ranked #3 at TRN right now, she could head to the Farm. She's a better dbls player than Higuchi, top ranked Californian and #2 (McCarthy is #1 but dunno if STAN will get her. Eh..but Davidson is also from NC so who knows )

Wimbledon Junior Draws; Keys Reaches Third Round at Wimbledon; Scholl Signs with Duke
The Wimbledon Junior championships begin Saturday, and unlike the other junior slams, who wait until the qualifying is complete, the draws are already out, without the qualifiers placed. As expected, Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, the ITF's top-ranked girl, and Australia's Thanasi Kokkinakis, the boys finalist at this year's Australian Open, received wild cards, with the full list below.

The seeds:

GIRLS:
1. Belinda Bencic (SUI)
2. Ana Konjuh (CRO)
3. Katerina Sinakova (CZE)
4. Barbora Krejcikova (CZE)
5. Taylor Townsend (USA)
6. Elise Mertens (BEL)
7. Katy Dunne (GBR)
8. Ching-Wen Hsu (TPE)
9. Carol Zhao (CAN)
10. Camila Giangreco Campiz (PAR)
11. Karin Kennel (SUI)
12. Anhelina Kalinina (UKR)
13. Anett Kontaveit (EST)
14. Nina Stojanovic (SRB)
15. Louisa Chirico (USA)
16. Ipek Soylu (TUR)

With Townsend seeded 5th and Stanford recruit Carol Zhao seeded 9th....does that make her an elite player???

Re: Junior results

So for @czninjaaz it is her best dubs result at #Wimbledon (QFs)! Best Grand Slam result is her win with @anakonjuh at 2013 @AustralianOpen!
