Maybe Lisicki can win some games with that big serve and a few well placed groundies. But Serena will overwhelm her eventually with her superior power and skill.
sorry but sabine is anything but not one dimensional

if she will be on fire, serving well, patient, with help of crowd who seems to adore her, she can really upset serena.. and if serena will be a little bit sloppy why not

she has variety in her game, she just need to mix well

Re: Wimbledon Chat Thread: The Lawn of Dreams

I have been still going to Wimbledon these last couple of days, even after Maria lost. And I realized that I love tennis more than I love Maria. The moment right after she lost, I thought that "Oh no, I'm not gonna enjoy this tournament anymore, should I still go there the next few days?". But since then, I still came, and still enjoyed it so much (although I sometimes felt sad whenever thinking of Maria's loss), enjoyed everything, every corner of Wimbledon, enjoyed eating strawberries and cream, enjoyed cheering, fistpumping for my other favs' matches, enjoyed getting some more players' autographs, enjoyed watching them practice so close, enjoyed queuing for the resale ticket to get the CC tickets yesterday for Novak's and Serena's matches, enjoyed the way everybody in the crowd (including the Royal Box, lol) did the wave between the breaks at 9:30PM, just so much energy. Now I'm trying to rest my foot and sleep, to get ready for tomorrow, which is my last day at Wimbledon this year. I'm gonna miss this place so much. I just love Wimbledon and I love tennis.

Re: Wimbledon Chat Thread: The Lawn of Dreams

The 2nd week of Wimbledon is upon us. This is where the tension and excitement really starts to build!

...or not.

For all of the talk of Serena's cakewalk, I think the men's side is just as big a lock for Novak. I suppose Murray is capable of giving him a run for his money if the match happens, but this tournament is in Djokovic's hands and he's made it look too easy so far.

Even after last week's day of massive upsets and retirements, it's still shaping up to be one of the most boring, forgettable Wimbledons I can remember. I will be majorly shocked if the two number ones aren't lifting the big hardware this weekend.

Re: Wimbledon Chat Thread: The Lawn of Dreams

It's tennis, anything can happen
Novak isn't made for grass and he showed it in the previous rounds, I wouldn't be so sure of his win if Murray is in form.

If Maria was still at the tournament, I would be so happy with Serena's lost, but now her defeat is so bitter and even more frustrating.

The Homewrecker is gone.

What Serena told Lisicki at the net: "Bitch, you better be in the top ten within six months".
