Ok, Caro. Today it's Voegele. How many sets are you going to compete hard? 1-2 is 1, 3-4 is 2 and 5-6 is 3. *rolls dice* Ah, a '2', so that's only competing hard for 1st set. See you in the locker room later, then we'll roll for how many days of golf you can watch before Stuttgart.

Yup,totally agree with this. China is a big market for WTA right now. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a grand slam event in China in a few years time.

You'd hope it is the last option, but given the number of changes that have gone on, I have my doubts.
The things Caroline says make her sound very confused.
Whether its a mystery coach!?! Or now she's motivated, or she's getting back to being consistent or trying to be more aggressive. A lot of strange, conflicting comments as her career flops around. Going into Madrid, Caroline's not even a slight contender
Who knows if she will even compete hard. 2 years ago she was going to Madrid off Stuttgart final, Charleston win, IW win, Doha final, Dubai win, AO SF.
What a huge fall from 2011. Now total confusion. We cant even tell what she's doing

Yes confusion is the key word which pretty much sums it up for me. They don't seem to know what direction to take or what to do.

In Madrid by Caroline being rank 10 she can face an 5-9 player rank in the third round and a 1-4 player rank in the QF, That right Huh ?

If Caroline is being mystery coach Which I doubt I be happy in many ways because that would show that she grown and can take other coaches input beside her father but like I said I doubt she have a mystery coach, But I wish that was the case she is being coach by someone else

I think such a state of confusion ultimately falls upon the head coach. It's up to Piotr in consultation with Caro to come up with a game plan/decide on a game style and stick to it with limited exceptions.

The supposed mystery coach goes to back to the summer of 2011. I think it was in that august when it was claimed that Caro was being coached by someone other than Piotr but they didn't want to reveal themselves at that time. I don't remember whether it was actually claimed or if it was just fan speculation but the mystery coach was said to have another player as a client already.

Former poster Jimmmie48 made a pretty good case that the mystery coach never actually existed.

Caro will be seeded to play a player ranked 5-8 in R3 (ie. Li, Kerber, Errani, Kvitova). In the quarters she will then be seeded to face a player ranked 1-4.

Yes I fully agree. The direction Caro takes as the way forward seems to be constantly changing. That suggests to me her team don't know the way forward/are panicking.

It was around the time leading up to Bastad in July 2011 I think. This was mentioned in the recent interview/article with Cronin in tennis journal so it wasn't just fan speculation.

First she needs to re-establish those things that made her a top player to begin with - a great defense, a minimum of UE and a 'over my death body' mentality. Once those things are back in place she can start thinking about developing a weapon. In my opinion it has to be that backhand which is a shot that comes naturally to her and definitely not the inside out forehand. The forehand should just be a security shot that lands deep and sets up the backhand although she could occasionally go for a down the line winner. Her forehand down the line is a lot better than the crosscourt. But first things first - cut down on those UE and get consistent again.

Re: Danish Delight - Caroline Wozniacki thread - vol 6

Talking of the backhand, what has actually happened to it? She used to seemingly be able to do what she liked with it, her backhand used to be one of the best in the game. Now in a top 10 context it is average. Whenever she seems to go for it, she misses it half the time, I've thought for a while the number of soft backhand errors she makes is alarming. Her backhand down the line use to be her killer shot so to speak, now it's basically nothing for her opponents to worry about. I guess its just followed the pattern of everything really.

I thought her backhand was fine against Kerber. Its strange that she lost 4 of 6 matches since that Kerber match, because I really liked her effort level, how she played, the whole package that match was very positive to me. Since then, she seems closer to losing 1st matches than being a title contender.
So I dont understand whats happening or why, right now

^ Her Backhand has not been the same for a while that something that she does need too get back, I think we all know she want be hitting FH like an Kim or Serena unless she get some serious coaching lol, back her backhand & serve are two area in her game she need too be working on. I remember at IW she was doing some drop shot in that Keber that be nice too add in her game as well.
