Re: Biographies of Female Tennis Players

NOBLE, MAUDE (Maude T Noble)
United Kingdom/Malaysia
Born circa 1910 or 1911 in Bradford, England
Married David Charles Watherston, 12 August 1933 in Kuala Lumpur

A notice from the The Straits Times, 14 August 1933, page 12, indicates “she is the daughter of Mr and Mrs W.H. Noble of Kuala Lumpur. …the bride is well known in tennis circles.”

Ship manifests indicate the family settled in the Malay Straits in 1913. Maude went back and forth to England at least a couple of times in the 1920s.

Re: Biographies of Female Tennis Players

TRIPP, “BEATRICE” (Caroline Beatrice Tripp)
United Kingdom
Born circa February 1884 in Blackheath, Kent, England
Died 1959 in Yeoville, Johannesburg, South Africa

Because the girls' mother's first name was also Caroline, it is likely that the youngest daughter was known as Beatrice, to distinguish her from her mother. Hence "Miss B. Tripp"

Played Wimbledon in both 1901 and 1903, losing both matches. In all likelihood she is related to CB Bell.
