Win your 2nd title of the year Maria , no Azarenka and no Serena helps as well .
It doesn't matter who is in the field, the only question is whether Maria is healthy and motivated.

Winning titles - that's the main goal. Good luck Masha in Stuttgart

Re: STUTTGART 2013: ClayGodPova returns to SLAY on the red dirt!

0-2 against Serena
0-1 against Li
0 matches against Azarenka
0 matches against Kvitova
0 matches against Radwanska(though I'm not concerned about this one much)

Still too many unknowns in 2013 when it comes to really getting a feel for how much Maria's game has improved this year. I need to start seeing some wins against the best top 10 opposition. Keep Errani and Woz away from her.

Without the big 2, Maria can treat Stuttgart as a warm-up to get re-aclimated to clay. It doesn't matter to me if she wins it or not. We'll have to wait until after the French Open to really know where Maria's game stands and how high the level of optimism will be as she heads into the second half of the season.

@ 'Big 2'. I get some people like to be pessimistic but I'm starting to wonder if some people are banned trolls who have come back to try and get under the skin from the inside.

^YOU (Mexicola) ARE OBNOXIOUS

It's not as if it's Maria's fault she hasn't played matches against Vika/Kvitova/Aga. Maria's proven, at least for me, that she's playing amazing tennis so far this year. She just took a damn set off of Serena Williams for the first time in 5 YEARS. She clearly would have defeated anyone else who was across the net today with the way she played this week and even in the final.

Anyway, it DOES matter to me if she wins this, because she's the defending champion, it's a great/fun tournament, and as you said, an excellent warmup for other clay court tournaments.

Re: STUTTGART 2013: ClayGodPova returns to SLAY on the red dirt!

Maria needs to put todays match behind her right away and think about the clay season. I hope it will be a great one for Maria. Stuggart was her best tournament last year IMO, so hopefully she can repeat with a title this year (and that will ease the pain of Miami).

Worse match of the year in AO versus best Na played, she would have beaten the Na we saw against Serena in Miami.

Not her fault Vika is injured and had to withdraw.

Overall in top 10, Sara >>>>>>>>> Petra. She won Dubai just because big hitters overpower Sara but the whole "she's back!" hype probably mislead you: Petra is still a long way from back and is still "recovering", as we saw after Dubai.

You're just the worst troll ever or the most pessimistic being I've ever seen on this forum. Even Fighterpova disappears beside you.
I mean, I'm not saying she will surely sweep clay and own everyone but CHRIST give her at least the little credit for being the best clay player on tour in 2012. It must mean at least something to be OPTIMISTIC for the upcoming tournaments, it will be hard to retain all those wins and those titles but if WE - HER FANS - are not hopeful about it, who has to be? We had our moral up even before this HC part of the season and based on the last years results we shouldn't have, look where he got: SF, SF, W, F where she played BETTER THAN SERENA FOR 1 AND A HALF SETS.
I've never been so FUCKING proud to be her fan.

^All of that I still can't believe how good she performed this spring HC season. She found the way to be more dominant in later tournament stages unlike this time the last year. I am so delighted. Really look forward to the dirt.

Re: STUTTGART 2013: ClayGodPova returns to SLAY on the red dirt!

If she keeps her level of play from the last month going into the clay season I feel she could really dominate.

The clay season is a little different though, there are some players that will be more difficult.

Re: STUTTGART 2013: ClayGodPova returns to SLAY on the red dirt!

Serena is not on the entry list, and tbqh I would rather have Maria-Serena at RG or Rome than over here, but if Masha GOATs like last year than it would be awesome.

Stosur and Kvitova are the biggest threats I see. A match with both would be great prep so good luck Masha Play like last year here pls

If she could avoid Kvitova or Li in Stuttgart, that would be amazing
