Re: Angie's Road to Roland Garros 2013

Kerber won against a good playing Kirilenko. She played very aggressive. In set 2 sometimes to aggressive with some unforced errors. I mean her serve is better than the last weeks, she made some aces but there are also some double faults (sometimes the serve was not constant). I saw no back injury. She is in form; I am optimistic for her.

Kirilenko was helping her a lot in the third set reminding me at Julia with all these incredibly easy faults.
But still - Angie is in the final, was showing some good attitude and is on her way back.

Re: Angie's Road to Roland Garros 2013

How bad is her back?
It seemed to me like her serves were all arms. Nothing from the legs.
I'm really worried about her health.

Well observed! Her serve is mostly about her arm with less use of her upper body at the moment. It seems that she avoids to build up the usual body tension during her service motion. Additionally i think that she is still half a step away from her last years's movement. So i am a bit worried as well.

I was pretty sure Angie would lose in the first or secound round
This final comes out of nowhere and it will give her self-confidence for the next -more important- tournaments. I doubt she can beat Pavlyuchenkova but she was also able to defeat Kirilenko

Re: Angie's Road to Roland Garros 2013

Perhaps she changed her serve to protect the back. But this service is OK, if she have no pain with this service.

Yes she had many double faults. But she must risk more with her 2. service, because Kirilenko attack every poor 2. service successfully.
