No surprises there. Well or maybe a small negative one as I expected a bit more fight. She was unlucky with the draw seeing who the other wildcards were playing (Peer, Kiick, Siniakova etc). And yes, would have been better for her if she could have played qualies instead, she is not ready for such level yet.
Now, let's see how a jetlagged Anett can play in Tallinn. She will use a wildcard for the main draw most likely?
Yes Anett gets a MDWC along with Eva Paalma (it is in my SEB Tallink VII Thread )
I really am disappointed as she obviously didn't play well given how she served and the way she played on the big points
I hope she can get her ranking up
I really thought she had a shot
(3)Mervana Jugic-Salkic (BIH) v Amra Sadikovic (SUI)
Ksenia Lykina (RUS) v (wc)Mia Nicole Eklund (FIN)
(Q)Alina Silich (RUS) v (wc)Anett Kontaveit (EST)
(8)Valentyna Ivakhnenko (UKR) v Magda Linette (POL)
Very good draw. Ivakhnenko is by far the worst seeded player and MJS is probably the weakest 1-4 seed. Anett usually plays good at home, so this is a good chance to get some wins. Please don't mess up a good opportunity.
