Is Anja Dokic related to Jelena?
Quick question for Aussies fans?
She was born in 1997. Is she related to Jelena, who we all miss...
She's playing Sydney 10k$ this week

Why do people always when see two players with the same last name think that they are related?

Question actually have sense, because Dokic is not so often surname for Serbs, and there is also bizarre coincidence that like Jelena, this girl Anja also belong to Serbian diaspora in Australia.

She is definitely not her sister but it is possible they are related, especially becuase Anja also lives in Australia.

becuase Jelena Dokic moved to Australia a few yrs before that
sometimes people moving to another country are joined by relatives (as they are leaving a country in turmoil)

That's true, but in most cases the family would move to the same city at least. Jelena's family moved to Sydney whereas Anja's family is on the other side of the country in WA.

Still it does not mean anything, there is a lot of Serbs In Australia and if someone of them have the same last name like I, that does not mean he is my relative.
Also, if I'm a surgeon it does not mean that my cousin (son of my uncle) should be a surgeon.
