Re: French Open

Added more today.

1. fixed date for 2012 French to reflect Monday finish.

2. Identity of Laura Lou Jahn Kunnen being equal to Bryan in 1960 is confirmed.

3. Fixed 1928 draw-adding full doubles and mixed results.

4. Did a lot of work in 1938, including adding seedings, fixing names, etc. Mixed doubles still needs adding. Name of Greta Hein-Mueller is tough. Sje is listed as Hein-Mueller. I see Jimbo also has Heinova-Mullerova. The "ova" is easily explained, as Czechs added it. She is never really listed as "ova" outside Czechoslovakia however, no doubt because (as her name suggests) she was ethnically German.

So is it Hein-Muller or Hein-Mueller? (or is this the same as Hosl/Hoesl?)

Sybile Niox-Chateau (Mme Fleurian) was born in 1969, so she can't be the same as Nicole Niox-Chateau, who was playing the French in 1968.

There's a good chance they are related though!

Looking about I also came across an Odile Niox-Chateau, born in 1934, and still prominent in senor tennis.

Re: French Open

Did a re-edit on the 1939 French. The draw are as complete as I can make them, though more may be found by using the London Times or other sources.

Re: French Open

Redid 1960 and noted which names are missing.

Will look at the 1939 draw in the London Times this weekend.

A. Kerckhoff from Netherlands (whenever you edit some results from the 1930-ies, be careful, because there was also another Dutch player "Z. Kerckhoff" !)

Could the other Kerckhoff be a "Zus" (sister?)

Won by Jeanne Matthey/Daisy Speranza

Mixed Doubles

Won by Mme M Meany/Edouard Meny

Draw Note:

Edouard Marie Marc Mény de Marangue (November 30, 1882 – January 23, 1960) was a competitor at the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm.
It's probably worth noting that for 1910, Germaine Regnier is the maiden name of Germaine Golding, as far as I know.

All results (plus seeds for singles) added to 1946 French.

Only missing a few first names for some of the men in mixed doubles.

Thanks LKK. Not an easy name to track down!
