and that's the ranking WTA website has (and was published on front page too)!
Though, it's not like these events will matter much by the end of the year.

This is the typical case for the ridiculous WTA Media Information System.
It seems that they didn't know the new rules [the rules has changed compared to Rulebook 2012]
Generally these scores don't matter at the YEC. However, in Kvitova's case, it may count and matter in some occasions, and that's why they changed the rules.
Anyway, I will try to send an email to Kelly Frey of WTA (KFrey@wtatennis.com) for further clarification.
