This is perhaps the worst team to ever be ranked. They should not even be in the top 150. I am a little baffled as to how it could even happen looking at their results, but I guess some of the teams they beat must have been in the unpublished 76-125 range last week.

Is the ITA a nonprofit? Why are the rankings so bad and why do they not fix them?

Many posters here are saying the ITA rankings are a joke and wonder why it's so inaccurate. What is REALLY A JOKE about the ITA computer rankings are the unrecorded match results.

For example let's take UC Davis official results on the ITA website.

1. 1/19/13 loss at Arizona 6-1 (recorded twice in error)
2. 2/15/13 win at Sac. St. 4-3 (says scheduled, score not officially recorded yet)
3. 2/16/13 loss at San Francisco 3-4 (says scheduled, score not officially recorded yet)
4. 3/2/13 win vs Cal Poly 5-2 (says scheduled, score not officially recorded yet)
5. 3/3/13 wins vs #66 San Jose St. 4-3 (says scheduled, score not officially recorded yet)

- If you're the ITA how do you allow matches that were played 1 month ago not to officially be recorded for their computer to go towards the rankings?

- If there are all these unrecorded results & mistakes for 1 neglectful team you can bet the number of these errors are multiplied by a hundred fold through out the system.

- The ITA needs to create a program that raises a red flag for a match scheduled days in the past with no scores recorded yet. And one that raises a red flag for duplicate results entered.

- Maybe the loss to UC Davis should lower #66 San Jose St.'s ranking or knock them out of the rankings all together but since the score wasn't officially recorded for the ITA computer San Jose St.'s ranking is inaccurate. The worst part is all these unrecorded scores pile up and makes the entire rankings inaccurate for everyone else.

- If you're the UC Davis head coach and tennis is your lively hood, how the hell do you allow the computer to not credit you with 3 wins and add an extra loss on your official record. The Davis head coach is responsible for the accuracy of his team's record and comes across as a slacker not on top of things or even worse incompetent.

ASU gets ranked 18 and Cako jumps to 21st. If you guys look at recent results on the ITA website you can actually see full doubles rankings! All three doubles teams from ASU are in the top 75! Plus Nicole Gibbs jumps to 22 an I checked and they finally took the "loss" against the girl from Washington.

Rankings are out. Florida up, Duke sliding, some of the well-known names that found themselves a long way down the rankings made big gains.

BTW, for comparison, the Texas College Tennis blogger posted his rankings yesterday. (Similar scheme, slightly less insane, and isn't afraid to list every team.)
