Twitter is no where near as popular or widdely used in Australia as FB for example. Maybe thats just my age group (25).

Twitter is no where near as popular or widely used as FB everywhere basically  The number of Facebook users is stil far ahead of Twitter

The number of active fb users is way lower than the number of registered users.
Also, with the recent changes in newsfeed, it is becoming more difficult to casually get the updates from all the liked pages.

whoever watching tennis and has twitter already following her.
To get more, she needs to interract with people (reply, mention, retweet). Good luck with that. Like Nastia Liukin tweeted her but she didnt reply.
Also with other non-sports persons who already has many followers. Serena has like 3million followers but I'd be really surprised if more than 10% actually watch tennis.
Anyway, wonder why Max didnt buy the @sugarpova twitter yet. I'm sure Marta, who owns it, wouldnt mind a couple thousand $$$ for it.

I agree. I'm a bit confused.
On one hand she's praising Jennifer Lawrence for being real and not taking herself seriously,
on the other hand she is trying so hard to maintain this ice princess image. I don't get her sometimes
