top 50 is about 400 pts away, considering how many tournies she would enter, she needs some deep run, not just bunch of 2nd/3rd round appearances, and has to take the chance in the slams for sure 
or to put in the race ranking, she would need around 1000 more pts (currently she has 144)

Yes, #50 is usually at around 1200 pts which is about 100 pts a month throughout the year or 120 if planning to play 10 months in a year (like many players do). With something like a QF here she could've made close to 100 for February and stay on a good course after a solid January, but things are not looking as pretty now. Hope March brings us something better.

She has the talent to be in top 50 soon for sure. THE other issue is AER . She has 5 tournaments + Miami and Madrid left until June. Then after June I guess she will play 8-10 until December.
Of course 2 or 3 big runs can make it much easier goal to achieve

Her loss to BMS is especially disappointing because had she won, she probably would have advanced to the QF. That would have given her 70 pts (instead of 1  ) and put her ranking at 80-85.
Oh well, better luck next time! |

Yup. Donna is the one who caused her the more trouble, looking it back. So it's not that bad eventually.

Still so sad and annoyed about this week. As a seeded player, Donna drew just about the worst possible opponent in R1. Anyone else, and Donna would probably be top 80 or even top 70 as of next week  |
