It is pretty awkward that the USTA has invested so much in the formation of the USTA collegiate team, yet finds none of other the 6 players on the team worthy of so much as a qualifying WC. Perhaps the players they selected instead really do have more potential, but if that's the case, why invest in the collegiate team to begin with?
While this thread is more about pro results, huge congrats to Nicole for leading Stanford to the 2013 team championship, despite being the No. 12 seed. Nicole's undefeated run at No. 1 singles included a 6-0, 6-1 win over No. 1 ranked Lauren Embree, and in the final against Texas A&M, she lost her first 8 games but came back and won the next 12! Now she can turn pro having won every major NCAA honor.
