I don't think Serena's form really matters, because we all know how well she plays against Maria. Besides, she's already secured the number one ranking, so she doesn't have to worry about that either. The only think I want from this match if for Maria to give it her all, and go down fighting till the very last point.

Exactly, it's like she forgets all the doubts she has when she plays Maria. I mean, OZ2007 was a prime example. Hopefully Maria will serve well though and not try to go for it on every second serve and please no wind.

was just reading that WWW thread in GM and was thinking, if the inevitable beatdown happens again then none of SS can get burned as we all were pretty realistic to start off with. I think we're learning to just accept now |

I was lucky enough to watch second set VS Stosur and wow, first serve  . That game with three aces in a row (with the first one being a second serve ace) was pretty cool. I think in that moment Maria felt what it must be like for Serena when she erases all her opponent's half-chances with good serves .
She'll need all that first serve and less of those DFs today though  . I'm not sure I believe she could serve that well (on the first serve at least) two matches in a row... |

Maria - Serena will be last match on Centre Court, after Vika's match. Maybe Not before 7:45 PM local time (5hours from now)
Centre Court - Not before 6:00 PM
