There's a few articles regarding Serena's contract starting with Nike in 2004 and the max potential. I read it and burned that figure into my memory when I was a young Serena stan

Some reason though the figure gets passed over - e.g. I've seen articles referring to Venus' Reebok deal as the highest ever until Sharapova got hers

It seems like a legit number though as Nike do release the value of their deals such as with those golfers and Federer's. I don't know why we haven't had any info since then though

The contract theoretically could have lasted until 2012, so perhaps the final value of a new contract is still in the works, who knows.

I think the figure will have changed or they will have drawn out a new contract because Nike were close to dropping her in the beginning of 2007

Either way we have nothing on her current contract since that deal should have ended last year if she and Nike did end up signing the 8-year-deal
