I'm way less nervous about this compared to how tightly wound I was during the less than 24 hours between Serena losing at AO and Semi-Poova's match. Swing freely, Mash, but not too freely cuz that could also be trouble.

I know I try not to be delusional, but even at that OG match, I was hoping she would turn it around after she went two breaks down in the second set (don't remember the exact score cuz i don't care about it honestly anymore). I'm honestly excited to see what she brings tomorrow.

Yeah, I've actually had minimal expectations all week. I was actually kinda half-expecting her to lose to both Zakopalova and Stosur, so I was unsettlingly relaxed watching both matches I should try this "no expectations" / "nothing to lose" approach when watching Maria more often.

Maria last served 12 aces at 2010 Birmingham, the tournament before she lost 6-7 4-6 to Serena at Wimbledon.

Yeah. No expectations and not being a slam is making this match so easy to take in whereas last year, I was so wound up on Madrid since it was on clay and Martha's Stuttgart form. And OG and YEC cuz they were big. No offense to this tourney, but it's just Doha.

12 aces --> 12 dfs tomorrow? Not trying to bring people down btw, I'm just feeling incredibly random today and like laughing at things instead of taking it so seriously.

I think that Maria has learned something from that match in Istanbul and maybe she won't let her head get into the way this time around. She's unbeaten in DOHA so maybe that will give her some confidence .

Rena is not in a good form, even though we all know that when she plays Masha she always is, but Maria needs to serve well and needs to return well. Her defense hasn't been that good this tournament but her backhand is working really well as is her footwork .

I have faith in her and I think she's gonna do it tomorrow .

I'd say choking it's so much more frustrating when you know she should have won the match or that she had chances to...while with the Serena maria match up at least there are no expectations anymore
