Bad idea. John McEnroe said that without him umpires and lines people would still be balding 75 year olds with glasses, like they were when he was playing. And he's right. Without guys like him and Connors scaring the living daylights out of the powers that be the quality of the officiating never would have improved like it has. Caroline is merely doing her bit in keeping their mind on the job.

I dont know about New Haven, because she's had real success there & at the USO after it. But Sydney doesnt seem too good for her.
I've heard somewhere that she decided to play in Brisbane next year.

I hope it's true. Not only would it be a physical advantage to have a week off between the warm-up and AO, it also means the points she gains actually take effect before AO. If she's close behind Stosur in the rankings, winning Brisbane could move her up a spot before the AO seeding/draw is done.
Of course this closeness in the rankings depends on Stosur playing little or not at all in Istanbul and Caro winning Sofia, so I probably shouldn't make too many plans for Caro until the season is actually over. And with Serena and Masha playing there, it won't be easy pickings!

Oh, so Serena and Sharapova are there too? That's going to be a challenge. But Stosur was also a challenging opponent and Caro passed the test . I for one would like to see another Caro-Serena encounter.

She said herself, she was thinking about it. I'd personally (also ) like to see her skip Sydney ..

As for 2013 goals : YEC

The Year About too being for a new tennis season here what I Like too see from Caroline, I know some may say this is Unrealistic But Hi I would love for it too happen

* Win at least 3-4 Titles
* Qualify for the YEC.
* Beat couple Top 10 Players
* Make QF at the French Open & Wimby, If not At least QF or Semi at 3 of the Slam, U.S. Open would be nice
* stay healthy
* Get Her Ranking Back Higher Between 5-7
* Keep Improving Her Forehand & Serve It be Nice if she Can Flaten out both Her Serve & Forehand by working with Darren Chill & Sven Sorta have Andy Murray Have done.
* & Come Ind side the Baseline More too Finish off Point beside waiting for the error, & Improving on her Volleying skills & Drop shots
* Last Playing More Doubles Mostly at the Slams

Re: Caro goals for 2013 suggestions thread

Here's my minimal goals for Caro's 2013 season:

1 title
top 10 year end ranking
minimum of the 3rd round at all the grand slams (barring special circumstances)

Here's what I'm hoping for from Caro in 2013:

2 titles
qualify for the YEC
quarters at 2 grand slams
some improvement in her game which perhaps vaults her back into grand slam contention
beating a lot lower ranked players in a less dramatic/stressful fashion

Re: Caro goals for 2013 suggestions thread

Revised Caro goals for 2013 :

1) Win a tennis match.
2) Win two tennis matches.
3) Win more tennis matches, than losing.
4) Stay inside top 20 (or maybe that's too ambitious? Goals have to be challenging, but also realistic).

Agree. These are probably the only goals wished for in this thread that anyone - even I - could achieve on a tennis court!
