I think there are too many primadonnas in WTA who don't respect their opponents and the spirit of the rules. Imagine all that shrieking, Sharapova saying "Isn't she back in Poland?", and Azarenka taking an MTO because of choking. That bad sportsmanship is the cancer of WTA.

I see Sharapova shading people more often than not. Maybe she's trying to be subtle about it (if she is she's not doing such a hot job.) So I agree with what you're saying.

I usually don't pay attention to the WTA drama that unfolds (there's enough of it on the court nowadays) but maybe I didn't word it quite right. "More often than not" I meant she does it rarely, but more than most players I see. Maybe it's because she's one of the most popular players on tour I only see her mainly? I don't know.

The 2 main instances that popped into my brain were the recent twitter shade at Serena when Serena posted a pic of her swollen ankle. The other one I thought of was years back (I forget who she was playing) but the opponent took a medical timeout and she uttered "what, is her name Jankovic?"

Not saying JJ isn't notorious for those MTOs, but it was pretty shady. I don't pay a whole lot of attention to Sharapova anymore, but when I do it seems to be just her being kind of shady. Maybe that's the media's fault, or maybe I just look at sources that hate Sharapova.

the latter part of your last sentence is probably right, a lot of players throw shade. masha has a dry sense of humour, as does Rena. some get 'suspected' of throwing shade whilst others do it on purpose

It's obvious you haven't read MTF in recent days. 90% of posters didn't like ATP primadonna Nadal's bitching. So you can't say that kind of behaviour would be accepted for a male player but not for a female player.

That isn't what I'm saying!

All of those instances are shady lol I whole heatedly agree.

Like I said I don't try to pay attention/look at the WTA drama. I don't ever go scouting for the latest gossip and cat fights haha. Whenever drama does happen to come my way ( DON'T LOOK MY WAY ~a la Rena~ ) it is usually about Sharapova. I must be cursed to only happen to stumble across the Sharapova Shade :P
