No, I picked Sam for the win as well.
Some excellent points, especially in the second set, and mentally pretty strong throughout. Sveta was a bit below par, but even when she was hitting the ball well Sam was matching her pretty well.
Onwards and upwards Sammy!

Well I love both Sveta and Sam, so it was tough to root for either....Sam needed this for her confidence though.

It's funny because Kuznetsova is the one Russian who always gave Maria the most problems. Stosur on the other hand...

I really thought Kuznetsova was gonna win this Then again, she and Stosur are 2 of the most inconsistent top players out there so I shouldn't be surprised at this result. I imagine in this wind, Stosur's kick serves could be even more difficult to attack. |
