Well at least in normal countries gay people have the same rights as other people because they are PEOPLE.
In Serbia however...

Re: Off Topic....Anything Goes vol4
It's probably easier here to say you have killed someone (at least you're straight) than to say you are gay
Being gay is basically the biggest crime there is in Serbia (not overreacting)

Re: Off Topic....Anything Goes vol4
Btw, sorry to all straight members of SS that I am nagging about this. I just feel awful because I don't have the same rights as other people and I get discriminated over something so irrelevant
I mean it's 2013 and people are still denied of basic human rights

Re: Off Topic....Anything Goes vol4
to the Bill, it's pretty much a done deal now but as you say a while before it's fully put in place. It just really needed done, once it's in place people will have no choice to get over it and things should improve a lot after a few years.
I also can't see myself getting married.
And to fighterpova. It's happening in a lot of countries right now though and Serbia simply won't be able to ignore it forever eventually the public/government will have to buckle under the pressure.

Re: Off Topic....Anything Goes vol4
Thats such amazing news. Im really happy that the all the gay people will have the same rights as those in a hetero relationship. Hopefully Australia will follow suit but I cant see it happening in the near future. I never really wanted to get married but now if the right guy came along I would totes be up for it.

Re: Off Topic....Anything Goes vol4
Yeah it is great, I suppose I'm only 18 though so I have a while to change my mind about marriage, I suppose it's just great knowing that the option is there.
I DIED at one of the BBC political reporters tweets though, some ignorant was ramming on about the 'sacred and permanent union between a man and a woman' and the reporter tweeted him asking was he talking about his first or second marriage.

Finally the US is starting to become normal At least I'm from New York where gay marriage is legal, but for some of the southern US states
Really happy for the UK though! That's so great.

Never thought this would make me as happy as it does.
I don't know, I guess I just feel more equal now.

did you hear about that law in Tennessee that says that parents must be notified if someone at school finds out their child is gay?

Re: Off Topic....Anything Goes vol4
I think that in 50 years time people will look back on the fact that there once was a time where countries like the UK didn't have gay marriage legalised and it will be just as incomprehensible to them as racial segregation in the US 50 years ago is to us...
Though there are some bigots amongst younger generations, it's an attitude that will get more and more outdated with each generation. It's social evolution.

Re: Off Topic....Anything Goes vol4
I'm really happy about the UK I'm not gay but I think everyone should be given the same rights and it's just so sad that in 2013 people are still discriminated for their sexual orientation, race ect. I hope in a few years the circumstances will be different in other countries too. In Greece however I think it'd very difficult for something like this to happen because the church has a lot of power
