The league has been embarrassingly silent about the power outage. Goodell must have a concussion. And they could have been playing 10 minutes ago. Check out the conditions for the Bears - Eagles playoff game in 1988:
BTW, Bill Cowher agreed with me about the Niners going with Alex Smith now.

And no more Vietnamese flag, because Hanoi isn't really enforcing the official ban on the rhino horn trade.
What a waste of the potential mother of all SB comebacks
Very questionable playcalling at goal to go.
Congrats to the Ravens. Wonder if it'd have been a 25 point blowout if not for the power outage...
So could they have called for a fair catch on the free kick and had a play from scrimmage? The announcers mentioned it, but then they ran it back. I don't know what the rule is.

On any kickoff (or "free kick" after a safety) the clock doesn't start until after the catch; or @ all on a fair catch. SF would have had the 4 seconds left, but Sam Koch's punt was to about their 25. Kaepernick has a good arm, but couldn't have reached the endzone with a Hail Mary from (80 yards away, including the distance behind the line he'd have thrown from).
Its good that Ray Lewis retired, as he's a shadow of his former greatness, and couldn't run down anybody. And his team could have used its former "RB by committee" of Ray Rice, Willis McGahee, and occassionally FB LeRon McClain to grind out some long drives in the 2nd half. Baltimore WR Anquan Boldin was fantastic, pulling in anything Flacco got near him; he's sort of like a Tight End (in terms of strength) playing Wide Receiver.

Yeah, but they maybe could've tried one of those crazy nine-lateral plays I thought they'd do that on the kick return.
