As said before, nobody saw him in Roland Garros during training sessions.
No dad, no mum, no bro, no grandda, this is the first time in Paris.

Re: Two weeks in France?
Didn't see the match. Happy to read that she played well.
about the QF vs Barthel. She has a huge game on any court and with this being fast indoor, I can certainly see her pulling off the win.

Re: Two weeks in France?
As expected, Marion's comeback in fed cup team is on l'équipe cover today. All the story is now well known.
The big question is : who will be the next coach in Doha ?
She answered that she still hasn't thought about a new training structure.

Re: Two weeks in France?
Could you give us a run down of the article? So Walter won't be present at Fe cup?

These articles are about process which leads to a gentlewomen agreement. With a big focus on dad's role. Nobody saw him in Paris as Marion has trained with Momo and Charles Antoine Brezac.
So, nobody knows what's going to happen from next thursday. Momo said she has only discussed with Marion since Melbourne. The fact is that nobody expected this decision except Momo who have always got the feeling.
Her dad won't be in Limoges to help Marion prepare for her matches. But he will be allowed to attend, but only as a family member fom thursday evening. Momo said that she doesn't know if he will come. Marion is the only one to know. But she told nothing.

It's about time she broke from her dad a little.

Your feeling is shared by so many people in France and in the world. But all the results she had were with dad. Her dad is everything for her. She even sent him a kiss at the TV after her win over Xtina.
It was not an easy decision. A lot of people have been waiting for that decision since 2007....But what will be the future?

Re: Two weeks in France?
Damn, she just lost the first set tiebreak to Barthel, after having I think 4 set points. It was strange because after dumping a return into the net on the first set point, you could tell she was very nervous from her facial expression. Like "I needed to hit a winner and win the set there." it's strange to not feel confident when you have 3 more set points, 2 of them on your serve. Then she served 2 double faults , and Barthel played a good point to save the next one.

Re: Two weeks in France?
6-7, 4-6
Seemed like a comeback was on the cards when Marion saved 3 match points in the final game, but Barthel served it out. I mean it wasn't exactly easy just to reach the tiebreak in the 1st, but you have to think she should have won it with at least those 2 set points on serve. It seemed like she had too much respect for Barthel when she served those two doubles. I know she lost to her before, but it was only the one loss. Oh well.

Re: Two weeks in France?
Feared this might happen but consecutive double faults on set points X 100
She couldn't return first or second serves today. Of course standing so far inside the baseline to return such a big serve on a indoor court doesn't exactly help.
She looked like she might be able to fight it out in the last game, but missed a complete sitter at deuce and an ace ensured the victory for Barthel, and now with Kvitova losing, the title was pretty much there for the taking
She's been training so hard but we've seen it on court yet. So disappointing; we can only hope the Fed Cup atmosphere will bring out her best next week as she didn't exactly have a lot to work with today.
