I was maily critical after his matches against Rafael Nadal in Paris. I only criticize players who don't give their best, phsically, mentally and/or tactically. Physically Federer gives everything, mentally for the most time as well but tactically on clay against Nadal not at all. In some of their matches he played the same the whole time. But he got over that and tries something new against Nadal meanwhile and beats him sometimes. I'm a tennis analyst and not a Roger Federer fan. I'm not a fan of anyone only from tennis itself. I just want to see the best possible even though that is too much to ask for sometimes. When I see that the women tennis doesn't develop in the right direction I'm saying it. There is no Henin style anymore and no Mauresmo style.

They weren't (being an old person, I remember). She was actually trying to pay Amelie a compliment talking about how powerful her shots were. Lindsay said Amelie hits as hard as a guy. Hingis was the one who turned that into an insult with the "half a man already" crack.

Lindsay also went out of her way to apologize at the time.

Lindsay was talking about Amélie's insane topspin on both wings. At that time, not a lot of women hit with that much topspin consistently on both wings. Unfortunately or fortunately I'm old enough to remember this and the match too.

Hingis dodged a bullet there, Lindsay would've mauled her in the final if she'd gotten through.

It's not unfortunate to be old enough to remember

It was a great match and a great period for the WTA (Hingis nastiness aside) with Justine and Amelie breaking through.
