Re: String Tension: Are you loose or tight?

60 pounds. I like the strings to be a bit tight. When they get loose, shots start flying

Re: String Tension: Are you loose or tight?

Do you guys have two racquets with different tensions? During hot days I find I can't control the ball as well with 58 lbs.

Re: String Tension: Are you loose or tight?

^ I'll play with a slightly tighter strung racquet on a windy day for more control. Or dump the Aero Pro Drive for the Pure Drive with the same string setup which effectively creates the same result.

But then, I like to hit the sh*t out of the ball and I have good hands, and timing, so I don't like it too tight or I lose feel in the strings and it's like hitting with a board.

Thanks. When you say slightly tighter. By how much more?

I want to keep my current one at 58lbs which is perfect in all conditions except when it's really hot.

Not alot. As I said above, my normal tension is 53/57 on the mains/crosses, and here in Florida, some days the wind can kick up over 20-25 mph. When that happens, I'll play with a racquet strung at 56/59. So a little more than 2 pounds tighter. It's noticeable, with the poly mains and gut crosses, but only because I've been playing them awhile. I'm not sure I would have been able to tell when I first started playing these strings.
