Re: Sloane Stephens on CNN & Ellen Show today
I don't have an issue with Sloane getting her shine on, but i've seen this less than impressive USTA movie before. As great a champion Serena is, she has never been what they wanted. They are wetting themselves with glee, trying to produce a Serena Williams replacement, who came up through their ranks. I like that Sloane is out there getting her shine and money, but I am worried about how it will affect her going forward. She has not proven anything, nor has she won anything.

What the fuckery does that even mean?
You want her to boycott interviews now? What an absurd demand.
Anyway had Sloane done such a ridiculous thing - TF would rise in anger and complain that Sloane lacks popularity and that she needs to take responsibility and be available and open to the media and promote women's tennis

I can only imagine Serena's motivation the next time they face each other!! It's gonna be brutal for this poor girl.

Re: Sloane Stephens on CNN & Ellen Show today
I like Sloane alot & I'm really rooting for her to do well. Has she won a tournament though? If not, 19 is pretty old in tennis years. Hopefully she's won at least a micky mouse tourney already.
I should say 19 is pretty old for tennis greats. You normally see that big tournament win pretty early which puts them on the true international spotlight.

They just forgot to mention Serena's health problems, but whatever
Sloane is very nice and she just proved it again with this interview

When they teased her appearance on the Ellen Show, they just called her "the tennis pro who just beat Serena Williams!" Like that's her name.

Yeah. Well she won one ITF title but here's her 2012 in review.

2012 - First Top 40 season; SF twice at Strasbourg (l. to Schiavone) and Washington DC (l. to Rybarikova); reached 4r at Roland Garros (first Grand Slam 4r; l. to Stosur); also 3r four times (incl. Wimbledon and US Open) and 2r four times (incl. Australian Open and Indian Wells - l. to Kerber 26 75 64; led 62 51 w/mp); fell 1r six times (incl. Carlsbad - l. to Oudin 16 76(6) 60; held 2mp at 6-4 in second set tie-break) and in qualifying three times; made Top 50 debut on July 9 (after Wimbledon; rose from No.59 to No.49); withdrew from Seoul, Beijing, Osaka and Luxembourg w/left abdominal injury.

Given that, it does seem like she's getting over-hyped. She might live up to it but she isn't there yet.
