That guy (referring to mk, we all are in quite a tussle with him TBH) is saying Julia gave away the second set against Li Na in Australia carelessly after the close first set. I was telling him that this is not true. IMO it's quite common on the tour that a favourite eases away with the second set if the underdog (in this case Julia) lets her chances slip to win the first set. However, he made it sound like there was some deliberate throwing in the towel-attitude and I never saw that against Li.

To get the things right for Suckmila -

For my part it`s pretty clear what MK 27 actually wanted to tell in his post.
He was first of all annoyed by the result which is reasonable looking at the easily wasted chance that Julia had to win the first set and give this match a different outcome. Therefore he was talking about a throwing in a towell.

Your German answer was about something different.

You tried to analyze the match from your point of view and mention a "mental hole in which Julia was falling, but she was not throwing the match" as the main point for her loss also refering on your experience as a tennis player.

I think there is just a (not quite unintended) misunderstanding.

Re: Julia from Paris to Miami 2013

She was up *5-3 30-0 in the final set and then lost completely the plot. Her service percentage was below 50% in the 2nd and in the 3rd set. But it was over 60% at the beginning of the 3rd set, that means it was much below 50% in the last games.

That was clearly a match, she should win.

Quote:
Julia said after the match: "I wasn't really satisfied with the way i played, specially the tactics! I didn't do the right things to win the match. I stayed all the time in the match, gave everything I had, but it wasn't enough and she deserved that win 100%!I have to work on my tactics, sticking to them the whole time and see when I have the chance to really take the match in my hands."

Re: Julia from Paris to Miami 2013

Was it the same umpire that also messed up the singles match? At least she would have a reason to be pissed at her.

Re: Julia from Paris to Miami 2013

Julia

Paris R1 exit. Mladenovic is a strong, talented player, but disappointing performance from Julia. Horrible footwork/movement. Julia is too slow. Weak backhand. Zero consistency. Then choke in 3rd set from 5-2 to 6-7. Not looking good for Fed Cup. I can see Julia losing both singles matches

Re: Julia from Paris to Miami 2013

To put her loss in perspective, Mladenovic also annihilated Wickmayer today. Not to mention that she has the crowd behind her and in Paris that still means something.
