Re: AO Chat Thread
have to say though - when you look at these final scorelines for Vika you think - is masha that clutch against top players anymore?
Maria Sharapova 6–3, 6–0
Serena Williams 2–6, 6–2, 5–7
Li Na 4–6, 6–4, 6–3
i mean if she drops the first set she is NID to go down in two

Re: AO Chat Thread
Let's make Azarenka out to be the victim. She's had to fight so much adversity to win this tournament. Wow. Adversity that wouldn't even have existed had she not shown such abysmal sportsmanship

To be fair, Li was injured. I mean, she twisted her ankle twice And hit her head of all things.

Does Wozniaki and Kuznetsova count? Considering I had to look up the spelling of their names probably not.

I'm usually not, but I'm extremely pressed at the moment. I haven't been this upset since Clijsters won the 2011 AO

i know but, she still managed to win a set regardless.
masha needs a plan b game, in all seriousness now because when she's off she is SO OFF. i know na is the same, but at least she's developed with Carlos regarding net play/serve etc. Masha wobbles when she's getting outhit and its starting to really challenge my confidence in her
btw im not being pessimistic whatsoever about her 2013 season, but i think if you look at her tennis holistically she really should've had at least 1 more slam win from those three lost finals IMO.

Yeah. I'm still devastated there was no fight or intensity from Maria in the SF. I mean, at least lose whilst putting everything on the line

i think its either going to help her incredibly, or skew her h2h against rena even more
but ranking is of no relevance to me or masha, she enter a draw and you play each match. i just wish she can be as consistent this year, apparently she matched her 04 or 05 record of top 10 wins in 2012 and 2012 was her most consistent year. so LETS DO THIS

Re: AO Chat Thread
Aze played shitty this whole tournament and only managed to beat someone in the top ten by their ailments and mental fuck-ups. At least Serena will be number one soon enough. All she needs to do is win a few rounds at the French. Hopefully, both Serena and Masha will get deep there, 'cause Masha has points to defend. Imma need her to win a Masters 1000 beyond the clay as well.
