I didn't really think about it but yeah... I can't even think of any recent all-Aussie teams that have had any success? Who has there been??
Also, in addition to their rankings points, their prizemoney will mean that are set for basically the whole year, won't it? How much do they get?

$118000 each for reaching the final, $237000 each if they win. http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/...ize_money.html
Barty has not turned pro so she doesn't get any prize money.(this according to wta websiste but her status "pro" or "amateur" may have change recently)

I think the last real success was Stosur and Stubbs reaching the 2009 Wimbledon final.
Was a great moment for C & A. Well done on getting out of a hole in the 2nd set when it looked like it was slipping away from them. Vavara challenging the last call but admittedly I think Casey crunched the last volley into the open court.

Lepchenko was so stupid to challenge that point Although yes Casey would've put that volley away easily.

Not sure on the whole amateur/pro rulings etc but Ash was paid prizemoney in Espernance/Margaret River ITF events...
Also something to consider....every tournament Ash plays AIS get 50% of her prizemoney!

That's why I said her status may have changed recently but the WTA hasn't updated her profile .
As for the payback there is a maximum of $50 000 for 16 and under and $150 000 for over 16s. I posted this article a month ago
Quote:
This year, for example, scholarship holders aged 16 and under must repay 50 per cent of their tournament earnings up to a maximum of $50,000, and over-16s - such as US Open champion Sam Stosur and former world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt - are levied 10 per cent, up to a ceiling of $150,000.
The total, more than $1 million, is returned to the development budget, where the four levels of assistance range from $20,000 up to about $250,000, including cash grants, plus coaching, sports science and other services.

And we have two junior boys playing in SFs and different junior boys in the junior doubles final. Nice to have Aussies to cheer for at the business end of the tourney.

Re: December Showdown & 2013 Summer Events
Ash and Casey on now. So cute. The little girl doing the coin toss is from Hobart and Ash started talking to her and the little girl said she was a ballkid for Ash's match in Hobart
