Ich habe überhaupt keine Meinung zu Sloane Stephens, ich bin nur vom Draw fasziniert.

Aber ich spreche nicht speziell von diesem Grand Slam Turnier, sondern allgemein von GS-Turnieren in der Vergangenheit.

Barthel weigert sich wie ein Tennis-Profi zu benehmen, da wirst du von mir keine Verteidigung für bekommen. Und ich kann mich nicht an so ein Draw erinnern. Halbfinale ohne eine gesunde Spielerin <#45!

Man kann auch nicht jedes gute Draw ausnutzen. Aber grade Petkovic und Kerber haben das schon öfter gemacht. Görges sticht da eher negativ hervor.

Ich schließe mich da mal deinem Tipp an, wobei auch klar ist, dass sich Li deutlich steigern muss, wenn sie gegen Sharapova eine Chance haben will. Aber irgendwie habe ich das Gefühl, dass es in ihre Richtung laufen könnte.

Das einzige nominell vergleichbar einfache Draw einer deutschen Spielerin in den letzten Jahren, bei dem man es ohne Seed-Kontakt bis ins QF hätte schaffen können, war Petkovic in Wimbledon 2011. Verlor in R3 gegen #89, hätte #80 in R4 gehabt...

Petkovic hat bei all ihren Viertelfinals ziemlich gute Auslosungen gehabt (Venus Williams gab ja in Australien auf). Aber sie hats eben auch nutzen können.

US Open '11: Vinci (Seed 18)
French Open '11: Gajdosova (Seed 24), Kirilenko (Seed 25)
Australian Open '11: Sharapova (Seed 14)

Sicher keine absolut brutalen Draws, aber schwieriger als Wimbledon alle mal. Das wäre #139, #122, #89, #80 gewesen.

nochmal off-topic kurz: mein gott, was hat roger da heute für breakbälle und chancen vergeben gegen mörri muss er sich auf jeden fall deutlich steigern, sonst wirds nix mit dem finaleinzug.

damit ich auch noch was zum topic sage: ich denke auch, dass die meisten spielerinnen diese chance von stephens heute NICHT genutzt hätten. die große favoritin angeschlagen, möglichkeit in ein gs-halbfinale einzuziehen... den meisten wären da die nerven versagt.

Da sich laut Fassnacht Serena als eine Art Mentorin sieht für Stephens betonte er auch, dass Serena wohl gegen jede andere aufgegeben hätte und heute viel dafür getan hat, dass Sloane eine gute Tennis Spielerin wird. Fand das waren tolle Worte von dem Fassnacht.

Fassnacht ist nichts als ein Dummschwätzer. Serena hat selbst danach gesagt, dass sie nicht aufgeben wollte.

An sich war Serenas Verletzung so wie es aussah durchaus mit Kerbers vergleichbar. Nur das da dann halt nen richtig guter Aufschlag weggefallen ist. Sernena ohne Aufschlag ist dann doch nicht viel mehr als der Rest des Feldes.
