After that long match against Agie in Instanbul, I am glad in a way that she is playing Li tomorrow. I know Li will be giving her a hard time, maybe even take a set but if Maria keeps her focus, she can win. She has beaten Li last 2 times they met. Li can be a bit unpredictable. She can switch on and off and choke and what not. They tend to break each other's serves to add drama.
I just hope they play first match at 11am local time or evening 7.30pm.

I feel like her groundstrokes are on fire this tournament, but the serve is not great  IF she ends up meeting Serena in the final, the serve will be the most important thing. It was her serve that made it close(er) in the YEC final. |

It's been a while since I'm excited about the 'other' matches, those that do not involve Maria. There are some great matches in Vika-Sveta and Stephens-Serena that can be potential firecrackers. The SF line-up can really be awesome this time round.
Hoping that Sveta and Stephens both come out firing and put on a good show.

I'm not nervous AT ALL about her SF 
I'm pretty sure Maria will win, however even if she doesn't, I'm not gonna be sad because I don't want her to lose another final

I'd rather her lose in the final than semi. It's another trophy And the whole lead up to the final, the final walk, it's all so exciting

I want another final, why not  . I mean there's always a chance. And no matter how many beatdowns she gets the day when she finally steps out of her shell and plays well that would be one of the best days ever. As long as she makes the final that day is a step closer. |
