It seems like she has "quietly" reached the Top20.
I wonder if she has gotten any support from the USTA. I haven't been following her all that much.

Re: Varvara Lepchenko
Well she trains at the USTA training center in NYC, so I guess she has gotten support from the USTA.

Hercog sucks on hard courts. Good opener for Varvara.

Just read some bios on her struggle to become a tennis player, which meant coming to the US and the sacrifices made to realize that dream.
Her story would make a good movie and I am sure there are many others.
It makes me admire how committed she was to her game and to persevere, after 10 years playing ITF circuit and winning 11 titles.
Many people would have given up, but based on her situation, there weren't that many options.
Living in a van, homeless, being a testimony of limited options.
Like I said, it would make for a good movie, especially if she climbs higher to top 10.

Re: Varvara Lepchenko
I watched the match and in the first set, they played great! But in the second set when they had 2 MP's at 5-3,40-15 it just went downhill. In the third, their confidence began to build and they pulled out the win!!
They play the winner of Pavlychenkova/Safarova and Barty/Dellacqua. GL girls!
