Only this part apllies to her as she doesn't play Junior
Quote:
viii. Merited Increases
(a) A player aged 15-17 is allowed up to four (4) merited
increases per birth year (i.e., birthday to birthday).
Merited increases are in addition to a player’s allotted
number of Tournaments under the AER.
(b) A merited increase is earned when a player aged 15-17
has completed all of her Player Development requirements
to-date and earned her way into the Main Draw or
Qualifying of a Premier Mandatory Tournament or Grand
Slam via a direct acceptance. Players may include up to
two (2) Grand Slam events in their total number of four (4)
merited increases.
(c) However, if a player is: i) accepted via a Wild Card; ii) 14
years of age; or iii) aged 15-17 and was accepted by
direct acceptance but has not completed her Player
Development requirements prior to competing in the
Premier Mandatory Tournament or Grand Slam event,
then participation in such event is counted towards her
total allotment of Tournaments under the AER

She needs to make MD or QD of a PM directly without a WC
I didn't realise how soon her birthday was
She could play both I guess
She will get Merited Increases if she doesn't play MD
She has already used 2 Merited increases though and needs some for RG and Wimbledon
I think and/or Miami is a good move

Re: Donna Vekic
so, since her last bday, she only has (including current commitments):
U.S. Open - merited increase
Tashkent - 1 AER
Australian Open - merited increase
Fed Cup - doesn't count towards AER
Malaysia - 2 AER
RG - 3 AER
Wimbledon - 4 AER
She has 8 AER remaining. IW/Miami can be her last two merited increases. 8 tournaments is a full clay schedule + Wimbledon warmup

You forgot a lot of tournaments. Her birthday is on June 28
CAMPOS DO JORDAO - 1 AER
WREXHAM---------- 2 AER
US OPEN----------- First Slam merited incriseases
TASHKENT---------- 3 AER
SUZHOU------------- 4 AER
SEOUL---------------5 AER
pune-----------------6 AER
australia open-------Second slam merited increases
---------------------------
So she has 6 AER left + 2 merited increases for premier mandatory ( Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid)

So, she can play 8 tournaments in 4 months. KL is exactly four months before her birthday. I think thats more than enough.

I think that nobody's intention was to say that Jankovic/Ivanovic were super players like Henin/Clijsters but just a comparation between big rivalry of two players from the same country...

Re: Donna Vekic
Yeah, she might get an extra boost of motivation after seeing how Ana did, but I'm not exactly happy about her only playing two events in two months (+FC which can hardly count as an event). She has more than enough tournaments left to play until her birthday even with all the restrictions, so I wonder where she'll play them all in so little time

I understand your point of view, but I do not doubt in her team. They proved many times they detailed plan everything for Donna. I think, it might be "temping of form" in question for middle of the season but we will see. I'm sure they know what they are doing.
