Re: AO Chat Thread
Well, Caro didn't play badly and competed well, just not well enough I guess. From the perspective of a neutral spectator I think this was an entertaining match. From the perspective of a Caro fan it's just another loss.

I know no loss is ever good, but she's on her way back up. Don't lose faith!

Yeah it's a tough one but both had their chances in the third so it was gonna be tough for whoever lost it. But this is MILES better than the past few months so hopefully she builds on this. A lot of Caro's tennis was great today, she really needs to learn how to just drop those shots back instead of volleying them back to the player though.

Re: AO Chat Thread
I rooted so hard for Caro I think I never rooted like this for her, but she played a good match anyway imo. Sveta just deserved this win, it's good for tennis to have her back at this level, I wish her to keep this form in the season.

I hear you. I complimented her backhand throughout on Twitter, it just wasn't enough today. She was more aggressive though IMO.

Well, at least she didn't lose in the first round as I feared might happen when the draw came out. Still, a QF was attainable. Oh well...

Yeah, it's a bit like after the Wimbledon match against Paszek, ain't it? She played well, but she lost. Still, it was a good effort, so even though I'm disappointed with the result, I'm not disappointed in Caroline. She gave it 100%, I can't ask for anything more than that.

Re: AO Chat Thread
Well for me I feel she played really well. Similar to the Wimbledon match from last year, she played the kind of tennis, aggressive but not outdoing herself, that she needs too to get back to the top. A little surprised Sveta didn't choke, (I think Caro was too actually), but it could have gone either way.
I just hope unlike then, she doesn't backtrack because she lost.

Yeah that's true. She was so much better than she was in Brisbane.
But I still think as I said on twitter, she needs a coach ASAP...

Re: AO Chat Thread
do you guys think the players know that the Australian Open night session is pushed from 7pm to 7.30pm because of an Australian soap opera?
