Won both matches, including Stancu. Not playing #1 though.

Damn, I'm blind. All-American playing number 3? Unless Scott has gotten way better and Aeriel has gotten worse, she should not be playing behind her. Texas could have a decent year

Really? Well individually rank-wise, I consider it an upset We'll have to agree to disagree, I guess.
Singles
1. No. 67 Kate Turvy (NU) def. No. 4 Julia Elbaba (UVA) 6-3, 7-6
Julia had a dominating performance at WAATC, so I'd say it's quite a surprise.
2. Veronica Corning (NU) def. Maci Epstein (UVA) 7-5, 0-6, 6-4
Same here. Well, it went to 3rd anyway.
3. Belinda Niu (NU) def. No. 43 Stephanie Nauta (UVA) 6-1, 6-4
Same here
4. Brittany Wowchuk (NU) def. No. 44 Li Xi (UVA) 6-3, 7-6
Ditto
I mean, NU swept the UPPER positions, moreover at an AWAY match, that I call random
5. Erin Vierra (UVA) def. Linda Abu Mushrefova (NU) 6-4, 6-2
6. Nida Hamilton (NU) def. Maria Fuccillo (UVA) 2-6, 6-2, 6-3
7. Elizabeth Barnett (NU) def. Hana Tomljanovic (UVA) 6-0, 6-1
Ditto (How good is Barnett?)

I would say we agree.....if your point was that there were match upsets based on early rankings (ie not very meaningful). I just didn't/don't see anything "random" with that.....maybe semantics........

Re: Fall Tournaments
Is UVA tourney on indoors? Well coach Pollard did win National Indoors two in a row(But that was when Mosolova and Rose were leading the team..).
Moreover UVA IS a young team, although I think those 3 freshmen- Elbaba, Nauta and Epstein - are supremely talented. Frankly I thought their Upper positions were pretty good, so being swept is pretty surprising, also judging from the Fall results(I'm NOT solely judging from the ranking, mind you ).

Re: Fall Tournaments
NCTC final;
Anderson def. Olmos in 3, 3rd set 7-6(Gugu held a match point)
FM final;
Sabs def. Pichi 0,1
KK/Sabs def. Dai/Kay 8-3
Hmm..at this rate, USC getting ranked #1 might not be a dream

Re: Fall Tournaments
Looks like good results for UCLA and USC for those two tournaments. It will be interesting to see their lineups when the season starts.

Elizabeth? No idea. Alicia Louisa Esme Evelyn ("Lissey") will be hoping to play in the lower half of the line-up, I imagine. (She played at 4 in yesterday's match against Utah, which is surely her upper bound for the time being.)
EDIT: @NUWildcatTennis

Strong performance from Senior Kate & Freshman Lizzie, winning 8-2 on ct 3 #GoCats

Also, these line-ups are pretty arbitrary, aren't they? Lissey up to 2 today.

Well Aeriel didn't play too well in the Fall. But yeah, UT could be good.
Scott lost to Sanchez-Quintanar in 3,
and Ellis beat Stancu in 3.
Really, TAM and UT actually had a battle out there

Jumped from #6 to 2?
And surprised about Sellyn, since she didn't have too spectacular ITF junior results. If she's real, that'll be a huge boost for VU..
Just saw the result that she got bageled by
Riobueno of UM, another Spring recruit.
