I missed the match, but I've read all of your comments. Hopefully I'll reair it in the afternoon! Makarova is next! A repeat of their AO 2011 QF. I hope Maria will win in straight sets, to preserve her mental/physical energy for the last two matches!

Re: AO 2013: The Bridesmaid-Bride Double. The Sequel.
I fell asleep and missed the match
Anyway, happy that she got through it OK. I wish she was playing Angie next, it would have given her a chance for another top 10 win at a slam. She only had 2 last year. It doesn't really matter as long as she keeps winning.Losing only fives games so far is just amazing
Keep going Masha

Makarova won't be a push over, which is good.
This is the time to get tested and step it up even further.

Nah, her practices are very good, very Maria. She has been super intense the whole week during her sessions (which I assume is her standard), although Saturdays one she managed to smile more than a few times.

Re: AO 2013: The Bridesmaid-Bride Double. The Sequel.
It really feels surreal for her to be cruising through so easily
I'm actually a bit gutted it's not Kerber next. I dunno, I quite liked the idea of her level of opposition gradually stepping up as the tournament went on. But now, it's going to be a huge step up from Makarova straight to Radwanska/Li.

Re: AO 2013: The Bridesmaid-Bride Double. The Sequel.
Maria didn't play her best against Flipkens but played well on all important points. The 5 DF's didn't hurt her, unlike previous years.
Flipkins may not look much but she isn't easy to play, just ask Zakopalova, who always plays Maria hard but lost to Flipkens 1-6 0-6 in the 2nd round.
