Sharapova is as unlikeable as ever. Having said that she is in her peak form.

I've always found these frantic celebrations that players have (especially the women) after winning a point or a match, to be quite disrespectful to the player on the other end of the court. This was the case today.

That was near flawless from Sharapova, gave me shades of 2008. She's not going down to anyone not named Serena and to be honest I'm not even entirely sure that result will be NID this time..

But entirely predictable that after winning me over with her tennis during the match, she reminded me exactly why I find her so damn irritating with that entirely over the top celebration. I won't post the word that immediately popped in my head.

Venus' serve is neutered somewhat on this surface but so is Serena's and pretty much any other big server - Venus' placement has just become predictable (and bad) kinda like Stosur

It's really sad to see Williams like that. Sluggish movement, terrible footwork, no defense skills what-so-ever. On the other hand, Sharapova can run circles around her now. Williams still has some powerful and precise strokes if, by chance, she finds herself in the right spot to attack the ball, but that won't skin a cat nowadays ...

Congratulations to Sharapova to keep her concentration, she showed glimpses of great tennis, but she didn't have the opponent to really shine.
