I hope Eurosport will show this match. Jelena deserves to be there.

Tonight before I go sleep I'll pray that the airhead fails at tying her shoes properly again.

Ana Ivanovic Vs. Jelena Jankovic
The outcome of this match will be decided by the emotions from Jelena. She must look to herself not her coaches. She changes coaches more than I have changed wives.
Ana
1. Big girl
2. Played top level tennis but is now too defensive
3. Techniques are a coach’s dream
4. Moves extremely well but must get more aggressive
5. Has trouble closing out matches
Jelena
1. One of the best movers on the tour
2. Fantastic 2 handed backhand down the line
3. Hits an aggressive forehand
4. Gets too emotional
|
Please control your emotions, Jelena. Time to beat Ana

This. People who follow both girls know that they are a complete mess, there's no reason to believe that Ana will lift her game for this match. This phantom Ana has no game, has no spirit or energy. JJ is no better. I'm not saying that JJ can't lose to Ana 1&2, she can if she she hits 58 UEs and 2 winners. But Ana won't miraculously start playing her best tennis. Let's be fair, she was beating JJ when she was really good.

In all seriousness--JJ and Ana both have their ups and downs but if you look at the history of their match ups, pre-form has rarely determined who would win. All else equal, Ana's always had the mental game over JJ. She tends to step up and play more consistently and aggressively against JJ (and usually falls a round or two after), whereas Jelena tends to tighten against Ana.
While they're both not in best shape and 'anyone' can win, Ana probably will because of the above.

Be lucky it's not R1 ^
Anyway, the atmosphere on board is so tense, I feel it in the air I am staying up even though I work tomorrow early in the morning and I have some important meetings. I will have maximum 4 hours of sleep, fuck my life but I can't miss it

WEll it's the matchup - Ana matches up well against JJ. But doesn't mean miracles can happen

Re: Jelena Jankovic Cheering Thread - 2013 Season - Volume 13
I wanted to stay up but it won't happen, I know I'll be fucking pissed if I stayed up to watch JJ lose to Ana
I'll feel better to know I atleast had some sleep while she lost. and if she wins it'll just be a bonus
that's the best approach!

Re: Jelena Jankovic Cheering Thread - 2013 Season - Volume 13
I have two theories
First - JJ leads first set 3 or 4-1, with one break, then after the first rebreak, she fells apart and loses the set, then she starts losing in second 0-2 or 3, and retires because of the abdominal pain.
Second a - JJ wins first set 6-4 or 3, loses a TB 21-23, and loses 2-6 in third.
Secon b - Loses second by any score, and after 12 match points loses third 14-16

I just hope they both play well and no bagels happen!
