Yes, some people will choose a weak hand 1 to make sure hand 2 and hand 3 are valid for the bonus points.

Ok, I thought Hand 3 must beat Hand 1 and Hand 2, but not in the sum. Never mind, Serena will solve this problem.

Cause your hand 3 is currently = to hand 1 + 2 which means it's invalid = 0 points at this moment.

As the game progress more players will fall off the rounds. Hopefully you picked the right player in the right hand to avoid an invalid 3rd hand.
