Re: ~Petra Martic~
No, I agree. But, if you want the Sharapova-Doi match, the moment Sharapova hit just a bit harder to Doi's forehand, it fell apart. I had a feeling Petra was soft-balling her. She needs to get stronger

Re: ~Petra Martic~
I think Petra just needs to become more professional with her tennis career.
Starting two seasons in a row injured clearly shows that she is doing things wrong.
She should just work harder or differently if this isn't enough.
I don't expect much from her this season, maybe one or two better results.

Of course, I'm not saying that Petra would've ended up better than Doi cause Sharka is currently in a league of her own (OK, in a league with Serena), but it doesn't prove it either.
The same goes for claiming that a player who lost in qualies, if it weren't for the loss, would've drawn the same player his conquerer ended up getting in the main draw Anyone had science classes and possibly heard of something called the butterfly effect? Or maybe of cause and effect systems?

You're right on both counts. It's just that sometimes the temptation to draw those conclusions is too strong

So to summarize, the only thing I'm sorry about here is that Petra wasn't the one who ended up with a hundred points, even if it meant getting double bageled by MaSha.

This, so much.

Nothing to do with professionalism, nobody is more dedicated or professional than pm.. The problem lies in bad luck for petra atm..
The fitness coach nor the coaches may be blamed for her bad run in australia..

Bad luck w injuries.. A good draw is anyone if u win.. Whether its top 10 or 200.. Petra aims at a high ranking, playing sharapova early is a good draw if u beat her..
Petra played no matches and had no practice since november.. Now her knee is sorted after surgery..

Re: ~Petra Martic~
Didn't Petra play matches in French club league and then also in some other country?
Was that really necessary?
Also she didn't improve her fitness at all, didn't become stronger or more consistent.
She will always be prone to injuries if she doesn't get stronger.
That's why I said she seems unprofessional, but it must be fault of her team also.
She has too much talent to waste it so easily losing to lesser players left and right.

Re: ~Petra Martic~
I'm just hoping she makes the most of her immense talent soon. The injuries must be awful for her.

Re: ~Petra Martic~
Some girls have hard time gaining weight, she probably would like to gain some but if it's not possible it's not.

I am just stating my opinion and I'm sure I am not the only one here.
Otherwise this forum would be called tenniscoachesforum.com.

Yes you can blame fitness coach and coaches, if they do not use all areas of knowledge to prepare a player, to rest a player and help the player, then they are to blame. Players who have such nasty injuries come from bad prep, coaching, advice or planning. We see this all the time for players (like some Russians for example) and without working with Petra you can't say how dedicated or professional she is. We don't know 100% for even if she is the people she works with can be poor. It is one or other or combo for both.
