Phew 6-1, 6-4 .. It was pretty ok for a set and a half .. From 4-1 up in 2nd it was sloppy. Very sloppy.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Caro holds for 6-4 2nd set at love on three 2nd serves.  Great job Caro. The match was 1 hour 12 minutes long.

Great match although she's made it needlessly complicated in the end. Donna Vekic will be big in few year's time IMO. Marching on.

Straight sets victory, that's rare. Sloppy in the end but I'll blame the conditions.
Hopefully she can play better against Tsurenko, she will have to.

I don't know your feeling about this match guys, but personally I had the feeling of watching Caro when she was at her best, or really close. She played the same kind of matches which led her to have so much success. She was hitting with great depth, which forced several errors from Vekic, was moving and defending quite well and she was using her chances to hit a winner when she had a nice opening. Could it be that she "remembered" how to play well? Sure she was sloppy at the end of the match, but for most of it she was amazing.

Yup,really important for her to get far enough to play Vika. That match would be great to show her how much she needs to improve.

I think it would be a rather one-sided beatdown at the moment. 
Pre-slump Caro had probably her worst serving stats against Vika and I imagine it'd be even worse now. Caro won less than 55% of points on her 1st serve and was broken in 47% or more of service games in all of her last four full matches against Vika.
