Sigh. Gave it away with a lot of wild shots at the end
It was always going to be a tough ask. To be honest, I wish Jarka had held it together better in that match; I could handle the loss, but it felt like a bit of a regression from what she'd been doing in the last couple of weeks. Hopefully that was just the added pressure of playing at a grand slam, and she'll get her game back together at her next tournament.
You can definitely see where the improvements in her game are coming from. Tonight was ultimately up to lose errors through nerves which made her more dependant on looking for help in the box. She's still in a good position and has had some great matches this year so far and has established a great foundation to build her way back. The loss is obviously disappointing but I don't see it as another step back.
