Wow I couldn't imagine this. I thought she will loose with a same scoreline in her first ever GS's match.
Now vs Wozniacki, it is paintful to watch that girls. How she get that low, she was at the top.recently.
Do you people know what will be Donna's new ranking with this win? Thank you.
I guess she will have direct entrance at wta 250 tournaments, am I right?

Her ranking will be around #90, depending on how other girls do in Melbourne, and I'm afraid this in itself doesn't guarantee her a direct entry into any events into which she couldn't have entered already. Each tournament has a unique field of players, so a direct entry depends on who applies to that particular tournament. For example last year in Hobart the last player to get in directly was ranked 63, while in Quebec City that was 219 - and the tournaments are of the same category, just played at a different time of year (one right before, and one right after a slam).
Anyway, WHAT A RESULT!!! I couldn't follow the scores, but so thrilled to see this, as it's something most of us never imagined would happen. I honestly expected a three set match, and a probable defeat of Donna, but looks like she had more than enough weapons to hurt Hlavackova. If the match stats are correct, looks like Hlavackova gifted her quite a lot in that match, with 5 df's more and 5 ue's more than Donna (enough for almost 3 games). Donna had a considerably better percentage of points won after her first serve than did Hlavackova, and the stat after 2nd serve is even more convincing in Donna's favor. It's also clear from the stats that much more was played on Hlavackova's serve, but the end stat of total points won is not one that would make you think the match ended 6:1, 6:2.
So congratulations on you FIRST EVER GRAND SLAM MAIN DRAW WIN Donna! Hope you have fun out there in two days, cause that's just about the smartest thing to do considering Woz is hugely experienced at this level and a retreiver par exellence.

Tournament is playing out in the best way for Donna IMO, managed to win Round 1 and now plays against a top player with nothing to loose.  |

Guys I was there today for the second set  Donna played very well but was helped a lot with a ridiculous amount of errors from Hlavackova. Donna was really determined to get the win, you could tell by her grunting She was extremely happy after the win, as you can imagine. Her Dad came up to the fence and gave her a hug And yes it was the same guy I kept seeing at the Hopman Cup, so that confirms that it's him which we were unsure of before
You guys will be pleased to know that there was a lot of Croatian support in the crowd too! It was really packed, a great atmosphere and I definitely feel lucky to have been court side where Donna won her first ever Grand Slam maindraw match.
Welcome to the Top 100!  At 16y6m she's broken through earlier than the likes of Azarenka, Wozniacki and Radwanska! Hopefully that's a good sign.
Can't wait for the next match against Wozniacki! Hopefully it's Rod Laver Arena! |

By the way I took a video of the last game. I wasn't in such a great position because the seating was so full, so it doesn't look so great. But I'll post it when I'm home next week if you really want. On match point Hlavackova missed the return  |

I can't believe she's Top 100 with 4 Top 100 wins (against Jovanovski, Rybarikova, Arruabarena-Vecino and Hlavackova  )
Still, to her credit, she is a fighter and has played with consistency and determination which is something I think is very impressive and proof she can go higher
