If Lauren wants to climb up the rankings and get to where Sloane is...she would need to get past the 2nd round more often.

Getting her rank high enough to not have to play qualies might help with that. Lauren's first MD match is usually her third or fourth for the tournament. Not wasting all that energy could help get her over the hurtle.
