So Vesnina is into the final. Mona-Sloane would quite have been the dream final for me. 
Anyways, the most important thing is actually Mona being in the final.

I think Mona's draw at AO is quite ok. Remember that she also could have been drawn to players like Kusnetsova or Lisicki. Ksenia played very well in Brisbane but she had opponents (Woz, U. Radwanska) who were not able to overpower her. The two losses of Mona against Pervak happened in 09 and 10 so this shouldnt really matter. If she takes the new found confidence with her from Hobart to Melbourne she should have good chances against Ksenia, then maybe Heather (this could also be tricky) and then she could be a tough opponent for Aga in R3. All in all i am quite optimistic but i dont expect too much. A third round of Mona would already make me happy.

Hi all, I'm a fan of German tennis who just started watching Mona for the first time this year...what a backhand! Hope she wins tonight against Flipkens, will be a tough match.

Hi, welcome to our club! 
Yes Mona's backhand is really huge but she also improved her forehand during the offseason. I hope she keeps her head together against Kirsten. Then she should have a good chance for a win.

The draw is okay it could have come worse. She has to and is able to beat a player like Pervak.
Imo the game of the today`s opponent Flipkens is much more uncomfortable for Mona. No secret a good serve (like always) would help her a lot but even more in this match.
She can keep the points short because in the rallies Flipkens slice does not taste Mona at all as we saw in their first encounter at Quebec. Esspecially on the fore hand side.
I am expecting a tough match for Mona.
