Job Application Questions

I hate these things

The skills and qualities questions I can hardly ever answer well enough, this company want 350 words on skills and qualities and then another 350 showing how I've used these qualities in the past.

The general type questions earlier on were fine, like about why I want to join the company and what challenges and opportunities face the company. But these personal questions always stump me.

Any advice??

Re: Job Application Questions

Well, you have to be able to present your case in terms of why do you think they should hire you. Spend some time and do you homework, google them, study the company, their products, their culture, thetechnologies that they use, figure out where your skill match with them is, what do you like about their products, and that should in theory give you all necessary answers.

You could tell (a corporate boss) that you're a staunch Republican, but I don't know if it would be seen the same way in the Emerald Isle as it is in this former British colony.

^ That'd go down like a lead balloon here. Even conservatives here are a different kind of conservative!

Do you have any "skills or qualities" ? Did you use them before ? If YES, then I don't see no problem in answering this...

If someone would ask me "why I want to join the company", I'd search for abother job. "Well, because it was always my dream to join company like this, because I love oportunities, challenges and developement your company offers me, and not, NOT, there is NO WAY I want to join your company for the money". Do you apply for some white collar corporation job ? Am I right ?

Complete opposite reaction here saying I'm a blueshirt would be a better angle

It's British Airways so yeah white collar I guess. Actually I got confused they wanted 350 words for both sections not 350 each, once I realised that I was fine

Re: Job Application Questions

Are you happy with what you wrote?

I always have to do job applications (and other things) for my bf. He starts out by asking for my help but then I just end up doing them because it saves time.

Re: Job Application Questions

Yeah I'm happy enough with it, just thought I'd fire off an application. I've always been interested in aviation so yeah we'll see what happens I've a few other graduate programmes I'm considering too.
