Re: Julia's Oceanic Swing 2013
Julia served 51% first serves. It actually got marginally better in the later sets. And when you have a cold and still play doubles, that's a self-inflicted wound.

Re: Julia's Oceanic Swing 2013
Australian Open could be the last time for a while that she will be seeded at a Grand Slam because with this form she won't be able to win matches.

Re: Julia's Oceanic Swing 2013
well, no shame losing to Svetlana, Julia was even the slight underdog on the betting sites but still...disappointing start for her in 2013.
Great start it seems, serve worked good, no breakpoints for Kuznetsova, 2nd set the usual up and down started, too many breaks and still she had the chance for an *43 after being 13* down, wasted it, lost 7 games in a row ( from what I heard) and that´s it..good that she lost in doubles also, maybe gets another easy draw at a slam so that she can reach 3rd round again..but maybe it would be good for her to lose in 1st round, time to open your eyes, Frau Görges, u have to change sth if u want to be more successful.

A little match report

That match at the end was really never in doubt, even if she would have got broken in the last game, simply because she played good tennis. "choking" was never in play. Really good performance from her.
Tomorrow it's predicted that it will be 40+. This may well be in Svetas' favour.

Not a good start of the season. Hopefully it can only go better now.

Re: Julia's Oceanic Swing 2013
Julia
Kuznetsova is always dangerous. Unlucky draw. Still disappointing start to 2013. But not surprising when you train as Top 20 player in off-season with Top 200 player and zero talent Craybas. Julia should have focused more on improving her backhand and footwork/movement instead of spending holiday with her best friend. That`s nonprofessional, stupid and naive. Julia should focus on her own tennis career. Training with Craybas gets her nowhere.

Re: Julia's Oceanic Swing 2013
Good draw for Julia. Pironkova could be tricky but she should at least be able to get through to R3.

Re: Julia's Oceanic Swing 2013
This is once again a very good draw.
First round desaster is possible but when she finds her form she could even reach the fourth round as last year.
