I had no idea Husarova was still around. I remember her journey-womaning around the tour as far back as 2002.

A career-high ranking of #31 is pretty good for a "journeywoman".
Janette was an excellent doubles player, once ranked #3 and is still playing, hence her presence in the QD, I think.
This is not such a good win for Tammi as Janette stopped playing singles 8 years ago, only played a few matches here and there since then (the last one 4 years ago).

Janette was a decent player. But that was well over 10 years ago.
A good win for Tammi in terms of *actually* getting a WTA win, but let's put it in perspective - beating someone that won't even be in the AO qualy draw is hardly something to talk up Let's wait and see how she goes in her second round. |
